JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Program Administrator oversees the research operation and activities of the Center of Biomedical Informatics. Performs community-based projects, non-industry and industry sponsored clinical trials, and biomedical, observational, and intervention studies. Works in conjunction with principal investigators. Assists with fundraising.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Decides scientific and administrative matters concerning staff budgets, new protocol selections, space, and facilities.
Reviews financial reports and provides recommendations for allocation of funds.
Conducts human resources processes to employ research personnel and serves as HR liaison for the Center.
Assists with reviewing, writing, editing, and preparing forms and grant applications for submission to National Institutes of Health and other funding agencies.
Serves as liaison for the research administration.
Assists Principal Investigators, other departments, and other colleges collaborate with other universities across the country.
Plans and implements grant and contract-funded research studies.
Works with community agencies, foundations, and state and federal agencies to develop a plan to enhance and expand research operations.
Conducts periodic reviews and monitors compliance reports for Center.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field of study. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: Five (5) years’ experience in biomedical informatics, epidemiology, or health services; OR Masters in Public Health (MS or MPH) field or Business Administration (MBA), and three (3) years related work experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Familiarity with federal and industry compliance documents for patient safety and other clinical plans.
Excellent computer experience, including excel and other spreadsheets.
Outstanding communication, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to develop reports.
Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Ability to prepare and edit strategic plans.
WORK SCHEDULE: This position may be occasionally required to work evenings and weekends.
Hiring Range: $48,921.60 – 72,820.80/Annually
