REI Nation is looking for a Social Media Manager to join our growing marketing team. We’re building industry-leading digital experiences and looking for a creative and qualified team member to help grow and improve our online presence across social channels. This position will be office-based in Memphis, TN.
In this role, you will work on social strategy, channel development and growth, content creation, promotions and community management for REI Nation and subsidiaries with the goal of cultivating engagement, building community, and encouraging interaction and discussion among our key audience. This position will also be responsible for assisting with the planning, development and deployment of social acquisition campaigns and will manage the company’s social content calendar.
What you’ll do:
Build and further develop the strategy for current and new social media channels for the company.
Create and manage content for social pages and groups, including but not limited to posts, stories, social contests, live broadcasts, and promotional content.
Develop cohesive tactics that drive growth and engagement across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter and others as determined relevant.
Maintain consistent communication practices and ensure all content remains on brand voice.
Develop and implement social content calendar, creating timely and relevant posts for each channel.
Edit and manipulate photos/videos/graphics/etc. per brand guidelines for use on social media channels.
Develop and execute social acquisition strategies and paid social campaigns as needed.
Moderate the communities, share feedback, respond appropriately and escalate potential issues.
Identify opportunities for emerging digital and social platforms, trends, innovative strategies and potential new vendor relationships that can add value.
Track social channel performance using multiple metrics (e.g., engagement, awareness, conversion) and use performance metrics to gain audience insights and inform channel strategy.
Report on overall performance analytics weekly to ensure timely optimization.
Monitor channels and coordinate with customer service as needed.
Skills and experience needed for success:
2+ years of experience working in a social media role managing social platforms, writing for social channels, moderating communities and developing paid social campaigns for a brand, organization or agency.
Must possess superior written and verbal communications skills, editorial judgment and knowledge of social media culture.
Must understand the best practices of the main social media channels, which content and approaches work on each and why.
Must be detail-oriented and have strong organization and project management skills with experience maintaining a social content and production calendar.
Experience with social media aggregation platforms and analytics tracking software. Hubspot preferred.
Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Canva and/or basic photo/video/audio editing preferred.
Thorough understanding (in a business capacity) of social platforms including, but not limited to Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, Reddit, etc.
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Actively follow new technology trends and apply to strategy where appropriate.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards in all work.
Undergraduate Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be seriously considered.
