The Director, EAP & Community Behavioral Health is responsible for leading, planning, implementing, and marketing behavioral health initiatives including the internal and external Employee Assistance Program and the Dennis H. Jones Living Well Network. Participates in planning and implementation of community behavioral health strategy for the MLH System. Responsible for advocacy, education, and stigma reduction of behavioral illness and promotion of the importance of behavioral health through connection and partnership with key community leaders and organizations.
•Demonstrated experience and capability to lead implementation of behavioral health programs with specific emphasis on EAP and community behavioral health programs.
•Knowledge of community referral resources, their accessibility, function and effectiveness.
•Ability to conduct formal and informal presentations and training to employer-based groups and to represent MLH to community leaders/groups.
•Excellent interpersonal skills to form solid, trusting relationships with staff and community members.
•Strong understanding of community behavioral health issues with ability to create and/or implement a wide variety of interventions.
•Skill in communicating and negotiating with and between individuals and groups of people, including Associates, management, physicians and community leaders.
•Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials, such as business plans and grants.
•Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups of people toward the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.
•Availability to provide services and interventions on an emergency basis.
Key Job Responsibilities
•Plans, organizes, implements and directs EAP and Living Well Network operations to meet department goals and objectives. Manages the provision of services to eligible employees, family members, and external organizations.
•Directs department-based quality monitoring and evaluation activities and implements measures to ensure that regulatory standards are met.
•Formulates long-range plans for the EAP programs and Living Well Network; sets goals and objectives and implements strategies for meeting established goals.
•Directs, develops, and implements the activities, programs, staff, and financial resources for community behavioral health programs from planning and design through implementation and evaluation.
•Initiates and manages the development and stewardship of new projects and programs, including working with internal constituents, funding agencies and private entities to seek fundraising and sponsorship opportunities.
•Participates in long-range planning and development to expand referral networks, including identifying funding sources for new programs and assisting with grant development and proposals.
