The eCommerce team is part of International Paper’s Application Services organization and is charged with designing, building, implementing and sustaining solutions for supply chain, manufacturing, finance, HR, packaging systems, sales and marketing, and other business driven functionality based on multiple application platforms.  The IT Business Analyst position within the eCommerce team is responsible for defining, developing, and constructing solutions and services that provide applications to meet business objectives and customer requirements.  The scope of this position includes translating business requirements for eCommerce applications into functional specifications (both Waterfall functional specifications and Agile user stories) and test cases for .NET, mobile, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Enterprise Portal, SAP Gateway, SAP Event Manager, and Vendavo applications.  This role will also be responsible for interacting with business and IT partner teams to serve as a UI/UX designer and to provide functional support for applications within the eCommerce space.

  • Work cohesively with Application Services teams, BIMs, PIMS, COE, business partners, and other key IT resources
  • Capture, understand, and translate customer requirements into functional documentation (both Waterfall functional specifications and Agile user stories) for IT development
  • Serve as a Solution Delivery Manager (SDM) or Project Manager for multiple projects simultaneously
  • Support enhancement requests and functional capabilities of multiple applications
  • Create wireframes, user stories, and user flows to leverage in functional documentation
  • Understand IP Solution Design & Development and SAP Development capabilities, lead application design, build functional specifications, and follow SAP, industry, and International Paper best practices
  • Influence the design of mobile, web, and SAP applications developed and supported by Application Services
  • Influence and enhance design guidelines supported by Application Services
  • Identify, assess impact, and provide recommendation for resolution of issues related to business processes, procedural and system changes; escalate problems of high complexity and severity
  • Identify, document, and perform acceptance testing to ensure the completeness and accuracy of solutions
  • Coordinate and perform regression testing of any applications supported by eCommerce
  • Configure applications to enable defined business processes and maintain relevant configuration documentation
  • Participate in the development of reference documentation and training aids
  • Additional duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, interaction design, or related field is preferred
  • 2+ years of IT experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills demonstrating the ability to communicate with multiple audiences (management, technical, user)
  • Proven experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Demonstrated problem solving capabilities
  • Understanding of supply chain processes preferred
  • Understanding of International Paper’s project delivery and enhancement processes preferred
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question both business partners and customers across functional areas to determine business needs
  • Ability to finalize business requirements into formal documents, diagrams, process flows, use cases, and user stories
  • Experience or exposure to design thinking, user experience (UX) and design preferred
  • Project management skills
