First Horizon Bank: Senior Financial Analyst

Supports Corporate Treasury department in the governance of company-wide interest rate risk, capital, pricing, and liquidity management. Requires strong analytical and written/verbal communication skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage the Corporate Treasury Funding Desk by providing market-level and line of business (LOB) support for deposit pricing including taking calls from market leaders and relationship managers to evaluate pricing relative to risk-adjusted relationship profitability, the overall liquidity position, competitive environment, and funds transfer pricing (FTP)
  • Develop an understanding of the company’s liquidity position in order to align and communicate deposit pricing strategies that ensure the company has sufficient funding and appropriate funding mix to meet business needs
  • Assist with the development and implementation of pricing strategies, procedures, and reporting by working closely with the market leaders, LOBs, and corporate support partners across the company
  • Develop relationships with LOB and product leaders to ensure sound understanding of business and balance sheet strategies

Management Committees:

  • Participate in the Bank Loan and Deposit Pricing Working Group (BLDP), a working group of the company’s Asset Liability Committee (ALCO)
  • Produce reporting that clearly articulates pricing strategies, market trends, and execution of strategies relative to guidelines and profitability targets
  • Assist with monthly ALCO reporting, including summarization of Funding Desk activity and BLDP working group meetings for executive management
  • Assist with ongoing improvements and consolidation of the reporting structure, particularly in connection with the recent closing of our merger of equals with IBERIABANK Corporation and planned systems conversion between the two legacy companies in late 2021
  • Support company-wide regulatory capital management and planning including forecasting and capital optimization strategies such as debt/capital issuances; participate in the company’s annual stress testing program
  • Assist with shareholder services including coordination with the company’s third-party transfer agent and acting as point of contact in responding to retail shareholder inquiries
  • Provide support for the company’s Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) investment activity managed by Corporate Treasury including administration and reporting of outstanding investments and evaluation of potential investments aligned with the company’s CRA investment goals

Other Responsibilities:

  • Produce ad-hoc analysis and reporting regarding industry trends, financial performance, and profitability analyses on the company’s balance sheet
  • Provide on-going support for the company’s risk-adjusted return on capital (RAROC) pricing models
  • Coordinate periodic reviews of the exception pricing authority guidelines and reporting for deposits
  • Engage with various departments across the company to ensure alignment with balance sheet management strategies
  • Assist in acquisition analysis and merger integration projects


  • Bachelor’s Degree; MBA or CFA preferred
  • Knowledge of the banking industry with 3-5 years of financial analysis experience; Corporate
  • Treasury experience preferred
  • Understanding of profitability and pricing concepts such as RAROC and FTP preferred
  • Have a strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Results driven and detail-oriented with demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities to meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbal and written
  • Must be proactive, resourceful, and execute responsibilities efficiently with strong organizational skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with SQL and VBA beneficial
