Community Legal Center: Administrative Coordinator

The Administrative Coordinator works under the joint direction of the Director of the Immigrant Justice Program and the Lead Civil Staff Attorney to coordinate office services that include client intake procedures, record-keeping, and scheduling appointments. The Coordinator will also interpret/translate for Spanish speaking clients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinates new client intake process, including answering the phone and screening new clients for case type and program eligibility, and making appropriate referrals to other organizations
• Schedules qualifying clients for clinics and other appointments
• Maintains office calendar and client databases
• Works with attorneys to translate documents and interpret conversations (English and Spanish) one to another to enable communication between the attorney and his/her clients
• Coordinates volunteers who speak Spanish to assist with translation of documents
• Accompanies attorneys to court hearings as needed
• Works collaboratively with other office administrative staff
• Assists attorneys in case management
• Assists attorneys with client payments over the phone or in person
• Promotes the Community Legal Center in the community
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of college or equivalent work experience
Good written and verbal communication and advocacy skills in both Spanish and English
Bilingual Spanish-English required
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Docs
Comfortable speaking in group settings

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Office environment and smart casual; must be available variable hours to attend clinics and seminars

CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt

SALARY RANGE: $15 – $16.50 hourly
Salary depending on qualifications and experience
