Job Description

Position Summary 

The Paralegal, (Litigation & Contracts) will be responsible for supporting the Employment Litigation (roughly 40% of time) and Contracts teams (roughly 60% of time). Paralegal provides assistance and support by drafting routine and lower risk contracts and responding to subpoenas.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as backup for managing electronic signature request
  • Assist in internal quality assurance and record retention
  • Draft and negotiate routine and lower risk contracts such as termination letters and amendments for renewal or changes in scope, and more
  • Assist with discovery and coordinate with outside counsel to produce relevant company documents
  • Respond to subpoenas and requests for information with minimal supervision, including identification, collection, review and preparation of documents for production
  • Prepare check requests and facilitate payment of invoices through Accounts Payable

Position Skills and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in paralegal studies or equivalent work experience
  • The ideal candidate must be proactive, highly organized and detail-oriented; have a strong work ethic and have the ability to work well both independently and with a team; have the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical and legal information in a clear, timely, concise and effective manner
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience handling labor and employment matters, including class actions
  • At least two years in handling routine contracts
  • Knowledge and mastery of MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Experience with e-discovery and case management software a plus
  • Experience drafting amendments or other contracts a plus
  • Certified paralegal strongly preferred
