After a tough year, the Memphis Grizzlies have the No. 4 and No. 32 picks in the 2018 NBA Draft. This year, Grizz Nation has been invited to the FedEx Forum on June 21st to watch the Grizzlies make their picks. The doors to the Forum will open at 5:30 p.m. on the night of the draft before coverage begins at 6 p.m.
Some of Memphis’ most respected sports voices will be in attendance on draft night. Grind City Media’s Michael Wallace and Chris Vernon will be in attendance, as well as the official voices of the Memphis Grizzlies, Pete Pranica, Brevan Knight, and Eric Hasseltine.
This really is a party
Those in attendance will also see performances from the Grizzlies entertainment team throughout the evening. The Grizz Girls, GrizzLine, The Kings of the Court, and Grizzlies’ Grannies and Grandpas will all be in attendance on June 21st to put on a show.
If you feel like going all out for the draft, the Grizzlies have you covered there, too. There will be face painting, balloon artists, and other activities like every good party should have in the concourse of the FedEx Forum.
Can’t make it? Live in Nashville? It’s all good
Grind City Media will stream the event on grizzlies.com for those who cannot attend the Draft Party. As for those who live in Nashville, head over to the Mainstay on Main Street from 6-9 p.m. to catch draft night with fellow Grizzlies fans from Nashville.
So, ummm, why all the excitement around the draft?
The 2018 NBA Draft is a big deal for the Memphis Grizzlies. As a team built around Mike Conley and Marc Gasol, two players that are not young anymore, they could use a great young gun out of this draft. It’s the first time in recent years that the Grizzlies are in the lottery (thanks to seven straight playoff appearances), meaning they did not make the playoffs and were in the drawing for the No. 1 overall pick.
Basically, FedEx Forum is going to be hopping on June 21st. Head over to the home of the Grizzlies, grab some apparel from the Grizzlies Den, chat with Eric Hasseltine about the draft. (Disclaimer: you probably won’t talk to him directly.) Watch as the Grizzlies hopefully draft players who become the future of basketball in Memphis.
RSVP here for a chance to meet the Grizzlies pick(s) in the 2018 NBA Draft.
