Memphis Goes International: Bluff City Artists Take Their Sound to the World

Memphis music has always been bigger than the Bluff City — and now it’s hitting the road to prove it once again. A talented group of Memphis legends and rising stars are taking the soulful sounds of our city across the globe with the Take Me To The River international tour.

This extraordinary tour celebrates the heart and soul of Memphis music by bringing together icons and innovators for a one-of-a-kind live experience. This year’s lineup includes:

🎤 Carla Thomas

Known for her soaring vocals and magnetic stage presence.

🎹 Boo Mitchell

The Grammy-winning producer and heir to the Royal Studios legacy.

🎸 Hi Rhythm Section

The legendary group that backed countless soul hits and defined the Memphis sound.

🥁 Martin Shore

Visionary producer, musician, and director of the acclaimed Take Me To The River documentary.

🎷 Jerome Chism

Powerhouse vocalist who embodies the energy and joy of Memphis soul.

Together, they showcase the music that has put Memphis on the map for decades — from the gritty blues of Beale Street to the soul of Stax to the cutting-edge sounds of today.

The Take Me To The River tour honors the history, celebrates the present, and inspires the future of Memphis music by sharing it with audiences around the world. Special thanks to the Stax Museum of American Soul Music for supporting and preserving the legacy that inspires this tour.

In July 2025, this Memphis crew will light up stages in cities like Bristol, Birmingham, London, Dublin, and Pori, bringing a piece of the Bluff City to fans overseas.

We couldn’t be prouder of these artists for representing the Bluff City internationally, carrying our rich musical legacy to new ears and new stages. Their passion, talent, and Memphis grit remind us why our city is a global capital of creativity.
