Memphis Airport Announces New Flight to Phoenix

Today the Memphis International Airport and American Airlines have announced they are adding new nonstop service to Phoenix beginning on March 3, 2016. This new service will operate once daily.

This new service creates previously unavailable one-stop connections for Memphians to destinations like Flagstaff, AZ; Yuma, AZ, Long Beach, CA; Monterey, CA; San Luis Obispo, CA; and Hermosillo, Mexico. This is also the 12th new air service addition for the airport in 2015.

“For some time, our passengers have told us that they want more connectivity to the West,” said Pace Cooper, Chairman of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) Board of Commissioners. “Today’s announcement is one that our passengers will undoubtedly welcome.”

The schedule will be:

  • Memphis to Phoenix
    • Departs: 7:30 a.m.
    • Arrives: 9:09 a.m.*
  • Phoenix to Memphis
    • Departs: 6:50 p.m.*
    • Arrives: 11:42 p.m.

* Because Phoenix does not observe Daylight Savings Time, the PHX times will be one hour later for the first 10 days of service (10:09 a.m. and 7:50 p.m., respectively)

You can book tickets starting on Nov. 14th and get more info here.

Memphis has also recently added new direct flights to New York City.
