Meet Monique Williams
Native Memphian Monique Williams (Chef Mo) has curated a sweet, homey experience in the gem we call Biscuits and Jams. The experience speaks for itself, but the soul of B&J is in the food. Chef Mo is a culinary artist who has carefully tailored a menu inspired by New Orleans flavors and homegrown recipes. Every day, Chef Mo shows up for Memphians by sharing the love her grandmother poured into her through a restaurant that feels like home. A few friends, a warm welcome, and a fresh buttered biscuit—that’s the meal we all need.
It’s A Science!
Chef Mo is the mastermind behind Biscuits and Jams, but her brilliance extends far beyond the kitchen. Williams is a proud alumna of Central High School and holds a Business Administration degree from Christian Brothers University, along with a Master’s in Health Sciences Administration from Central Michigan University. She pursued a noble career in clinical research, working with organizations such as St. Jude and Pfizer.
And did you know? In 2023, she was appointed Alderman, Position 4 in Bartlett, TN. Her resume is impressive, and her accomplishments are worthy of celebration. Yet, even with such a remarkable journey, Williams has always had more to give.

The Grit Behind the Glory
The road to opening Biscuits and Jams hasn’t always been peaches and cream. The grand opening was delayed by the pandemic, but like a true Memphian, Chef Mo’s got grit! Nothing could stop her from turning her dream into a reality. Today, she beams with gratitude for the opportunity to share what she calls “this gift that God gave me” with people from all over the country.
but wait, there's more!
Chef Mo does not put limits on what she can accomplish! Her most recent venture is the opening of The Juke, a speakeasy nestled beneath Biscuits and Jams’ downtown location. The Juke brings the jazz nights of the 1950s and 60s to life, with live music, hand-crafted cocktails, and delicious food for the “grown and sexy” vibe you’ve been looking for. It’s more than just a speakeasy—it’s an experience, blending history, culture, and the irresistible charm of Memphis.
