Now is the Time. Memphis is the Place.

Meanwhile in Memphis Orientation Concert & Fundraiser

It seems everyone in Memphis has played with Tav Falco’s Panther Burns at some point over the last 30 or so years. From Memphis legends such as Alex Chilton, Teenie Hodges, Jim Dickinson, Andrew Love and Ross Johnson, to local notable musicians like Doug and Ron Easley, Misty White, Ken Stringfellow, Jessie Mae Hemphill,  and Jack Oblivian. And the list literally goes and on and on.

Falco headlined the Meanwhile in Memphis Orientation Concert and Fundraiser at Minglewood Hall on October 14th to help raise funds for the documentary and bring together a sort of reunion for all the local folks who had played with him at one time or another. The show was fantastic, but we left before the rumored shenanigans between the out of town talent and the locals trying to hang out backstage. Somebody should have told them that in Memphis everyone has a backstage pass…
