The 8th graders at Power Center Academy (PCA) believe in a cleaner environment, and so should you! They are kicking off their 3 year clean-up campaign “What’s In Your Water?” in hopes of challenging surrounding schools to get involved in caring about pollution. Clean Memphis, Grizzlies Team Up Mentoring, and PCA join forces in order to raise awareness about watershed health and to inform individuals of what they can do improve the overall health of the Nonconnah Watershed. Volunteers are needed to help!
While most movements regarding pollution have had a strong focus on litter removal from rivers and lakes, this project is emphasizing the importance of pollution education and community based cleanups so that the trash doesn’t find its way there in the first place.
This kick-off is part of the three year education and action project striving for a cleaner Nonconnah Watershed called NCEEP (Nonconnah Corridor Engagement and Education Program.) This Clean Memphis program has received grants from TDOT and City of Memphis Public Work and aims to gain awareness about pollution.
Come show your support and help share the importance of taking care of our water.
