Local artisans & makers, entrepreneurs, and retailers can get access to free temporary retail space through the Downtown Memphis Commission’s OPEN ON MAIN Initiative.

Applications are open now for the next round of OPEN ON MAIN tenants. The initiative takes unleased commercial space along Main Street and gives it to local entrepreneurs to use rent-free for a period of one month or longer.

The DMC hopes to boost local entrepreneurs by giving them a relatively low-risk way to test out retail concepts. The initiative also helps bring to life a high-traffic, walkable area of Downtown Memphis and demonstrates the possibilities for a thriving retail corridor.

Some notable uses of Open on Main include Buff City Soap before they launched their Cooper-Young location, the Hive Collective’s group pop-up shop and coworking space, and the group pop-up co-hosted by Gift Wraps and Teeny Toes and Bows to highlight local African-American vendors.

Three sites are available to be activated as soon as June 2019:

Gift Wraps Pop Up on Main St.

SITE ONE
100 Peabody Place, Suite 175

SITE TWO
145 South Main Street, Suite 110
