Now is the Time. Memphis is the Place.

LuvMud Island Invasion

First Race of its Kind on the Banks of the Mississippi River

LuvMud is a Memphis-made 5K race and festival that was started in 2010.  Due to overwhelming growth and response from the Memphis community, LuvMud Island was created. The newest race in the LuvMud family, LuvMud Island will take place at 11am on June 23 on Greenbelt Park. This Memphis original event is sure to please. Costumed runners (both individuals and teams) will take part in a 5K obstacle race that ends in a 60 foot mud pit.  Several new obstacles are present this year, some of which feature downtown and Mud Island as a great place to live, work and play. 1500 runners will be present, and another 3000 spectators will join in the fun.  6 local bands, craft vendors, food trucks and kids activities round out the family-friendly festival, which kicks off at 10am.

LuvMud is the official fundraising arm of Habitat for Hope. Habitat for Hope was founded in Memphis in 2006 to support, serve and care for families caring for a child with a serious illness. Over the past 6 years, Habitat for Hope has loved over 400 families, for an average of 6 weeks per family. Volunteers are always welcome; visit the HFH website for more info.
