Local Late Night Bites

We get it. Sometimes your tummy talks after-hours. Luckily, Memphis is home to handful of late night spots that’ll cater to your cravings long after the clock strikes midnight.

Alex’s Tavern has been in the late night biz since their beginning in 1953. Holding things down as Memphis’ oldest family-owned tavern, they’ve got everything that makes for a good watering hole: crispy wings, cold beer, shuffleboard, burgers, and then some. 

Hours:

  • M-F (8AM-3AM)
  • Weekends (11AM-3AM)

Weekends are for brunch and late night turn-ups with friends, and luckily Bardog is a place for both. This downtown neighborhood bar is a great spot to gather with friends all throughout the day, with delicious eats ready to be served as early as 8AM on the weekdays (11AM on weekends) and as late as 1AM on weekends.

  • Fri-Sat (11AM-1AM)

Throw on your blue suede shoes and boogie on oer to B.B. King’s Blues Club. Located on Beale Street, your late night bites come with a side of rock ‘n’ roll that might keep the party going a little longer than expected.

  • F- Sun (11AM-3AM)

As an ode to the speakeasies of 1920s, these munchies are password protected! Hit up Blind Bear for a late night rendezvous, and make sure to check out their Facebook page for the secret phrase of the day for free entry Thursday-Sunday.

Since 1991, Blue’s City Cafe has been a staple on both local and traveling foodie’s “must eat” list of restaurants. Don’t just take our word for it, though. Check out their website to see which of your favorite celebrities have stopped by!

The next time your team is tearing it up after hours, pop into the Brookhaven Pub where guests are provided with plenty of TVs, late night bites, and a fully stocked bar.

Broadway Pizza is the star of the show in Memphis! Loved by locals all over the area, they’ve been serving up perfect pizza pies since 1977. Not in the mood for a slice? Grab a piece of their homemade cakes instead!

Cameo is one of the newest late night spots on the block, brought to you by local bartenders! If you find yourself in Midtown on Tuesday-Sunday, grab something to sip and snack on until it’s time to turn in.

Rockin & rollin’ since the early 1900s, Dyer’s Burgers is one of Beale Street’s most iconic burger joints. Go grab something greasy after you’re done getting down on a nearby dance floor. 

Hours: W-Sun (5PM-3AM)

You know you want to dine in a spot where bones were discovered in the walls! Visit one of the most famous spots in Memphis where the ghosts control the jukebox and the Soul Burgers are still made the same way they were when your mama had them. 

Hours: 5AM-12AM daily

You know we had to put the iconic late night donut shop on this late night bites list! Although most donut shops close early, Gibson’s knows that donut cravings hit after hours too. P.S. We promise the maple bacon donut is definitely as good as it looks.

Huey’s has been the place to be since 1970. The menu boasts tasty burgers, mozzarella sticks, cheese fries, and more that’ll fuel you for whatever post-midnight mischief arises.

If you haven’t eaten your body weight in warm, gooey cookies at midnight, have you really lived life to the fullest? Look to none other than Insomnia Cookies to satisfy that late night sweet tooth.

As a place for local and touring acts, Lafayette’s Music Room is great local spot for live music. You can’t go wrong with tasty eats and talented musicians, and, conveniently, Lafayette’s offers up both.

Featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, Marlowe’s Ribs was built and continues to be run on tradition. Their BBQ is to die for and loved by all, and they will even pick you up in a pink limousine to come and experience this greatness.

You can never go wrong with Memphis Pizza Cafe. They’ve set the bar for thin crust option, and the salads and sandwiches stand in a lane of their own. And the best late night bites are pizza so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Running for over 40 years, Newby’s on Highland continues to be a poppin’ spot for all ages to stop by for any occasion. From BBQ Pizza to Texas Toast grilled cheese, there are some hardy treats waiting to put you to bed.

RP Tracks has a little of everything and it’s all good. Nestled beside the tracks in the university area, they’ve been serving deliciousness to Memphis for 30 years. Help yourself to heaping plates of nachos and loaded fries, wings, sandwiches, pitas and more late night bites.

Voted one of Memphis’ best outdoor patios, The Slider Inn gives you a multitude of options you can choose from to satisfy those cravings around the clock;  with over 10 different silder combinations, Jameson slushees, and then some!

The tailgate never stops at Ubee’s—and what’s a tailgate without greasy grub? Grab some “fried-right” chicken fingers before you figure out where the night’s going to take you next!

Known for their incredible frozen daiquiris, Wet Willie’s is the place to be for good drinks AND food! Where else can you grab a White Russian Daiquiri and a quesadilla before, or after, getting down on Beale Street??

For 20+ years, Young Avenue Deli has been bringing the heat with the late night bites! Not only that but their tap selection of over 30 beers might persuade you to party down… as if you weren’t already doing so.
