Where to See Live Theatre in Memphis

The arts community is a vital part of the vibrancy of Memphis. In addition to multiple dance companies, museums & galleries, public art, opera, and symphony orchestras, there’s also a robust and growing live theatre scene. Here’s where you can see everything from musicals to dramas to improv to new plays to classics.

Hattiloo Theatre

  • This is Memphis’ only African-American repertory theatre, and Hattiloo recently announced that renowned playwright and Memphian Katori Hall is taking over as artistic director.
