A new art piece now hangs in Overton Square!

The Barbara K. Lipman Early Childhood School and Research Institute students have painted “Memphis Taking Shape,” Overton Square’s latest art instillation.

The piece was created on Saturday, May 3rd, by students from Lipman ages 2-5. The students were asked: “What makes you think ‘Memphis’?” They called out several of Memphis’ greatest attractions, which now all make up the content of the new mural.

The painting’s public display was made possible by Lipman school teacher, Rachel Crown and Loeb Properties‘ Community Relations Director, Elizabeth Berglund, along with SignWorks of Memphis.

The painting will be on display through mid-August.

Be sure to go by and see the beautiful new addition to Overton Square!
