The Beale Street Blues Company has signed a lease with Loeb Properties for 5,296 square feet to reopen the 1970s music spot, Lafayette’s Music Room, at 2119 Madison.

Lafayette’s will be a place to eat, drink and listen to music in an intimate setting. Chef Jody Moyt will offer a Southern menu with influences from the Mississippi Delta and New Orleans.

The restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner and will feature two bands performing each night.

Lafayette’s general manager Alex Boggs said in this article by the Memphis Business Journal that they have an alt-country band (the Dead Winter Carpenters) scheduled to play their opening on Oct. 2nd. Tickets are already available online for another show in November by Leon Russell.

Lafayette’s is now hiring for 70 positions, and they are taking applicants every weekday from 1-5 p.m at 2119 Madison Ave.
