Where's the Memphis Sneakerheads?
In the past couple of years, Sneakers have grown from a niche to apart of every household and popular culture alike. Even your top executives are probably wearing sneakers way more often then dress shoes. The culture has grown with celebrities like Travis Scott talking about their favorite kicks and even having collaborations. But honestly, here in Memphis, it’s always been about the kicks, foamposites, penny’s, air force 1s. I mean the Nike Employee Store is here, so it’s kind of just apart of the lifestyle.
So What is sneakfest?
Sneakfest is Tennessee’s premier sneaker expo, an event for sneaker lovers and those who just want to have a good time. Started by Sherman, Adam, and Jerry, venders can come from all over to buy/sell/trade sneakers. But not just sneakers, there’s fashion, rugs and dope things related to sneaker culture. Attenders of the event even can just be around the environment and check out cool, rare and unique items. People can even bring their own sneakers to trade or sell.
HOW DO I ATTEND?
This year Sneakfest is going to be happening at the Memphis Sports and Events Center, tickets start at $20. It will be from 1-6PM and there will be Back to School giveaways, they will even be giving out 200 free haircuts to kids looking to be fresh for their first day! And this year, there will be a celebrity basketball game featuring NLE Choppa. So it’s bound to be a dope event.
