Singer John Kilzer will be performing songs from his new album Hide Away at the newly open Lafayette Music Room on October 9th. A Jackson (TN) native, Kilzer has ties to the Bluff City including playing basketball at the University of Memphis and teaching English before starting his music career in the ’80s.

“Till We’re All Free” was written after a conversation with Memphis’ favorite saxophonist Kirk Whalum. “Love Wants to Give Its Heart to You” was written hours before the funeral of his beloved friend, Memphis folk-blues legend Sid Selvidge. With such Memphis influence and experiences, the soul of Memphis music will definitely be on display on Hide Away. Come be apart of the show and hear songs from this new album before it officially drops on October 14th.
