POSITION SUMMARY:
ELEVATE Adventure Camp is a fast-paced, high-energy summer camp for youth ages 10-14, designed to broaden their horizons through immersive experiences and meaningful connections. The Teen Camp Advisor will play a vital role in creating a fun, supportive, and engaging environment where campers can explore new places, build friendships, and interact with trusted mentors. Advisors will lead dynamic activities, accompany campers on exciting field trips, and foster a culture of inclusion and adventure. This role is ideal for energetic individuals who are passionate about youth development, teamwork, and outdoor exploration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Camper Supervision & Engagement:
Provide direct supervision of campers, ensuring their safety, participation, and well-being.
Lead and actively participate in all ELEVATE camp activities, including outdoor adventures, educational trips, and team-building exercises.
Foster a positive and inclusive camp culture by encouraging teamwork and respect among campers.
Field Trips & Activities:
Accompany campers on field trips 4 days per week, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
Assist with transportation logistics, including loading/unloading campers and maintaining order on buses.
Lead group discussions, games, and reflection activities to enhance the learning experience on trips.
Behavior Management & Safety:
Monitor camper behavior and apply positive discipline techniques when necessary.
Ensure compliance with all camp safety guidelines and emergency procedures.
Respond appropriately to any incidents, injuries, or conflicts, reporting to the Camp Coordinator as needed.
Program Support:
Assist in planning and facilitating camp activities based on weekly themes.
Set up, clean up, and maintain activity spaces and equipment.
Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and provide daily updates when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Experience working with children/teens (ages 10-14) in a camp, school, or recreation setting preferred.
Passion for outdoor adventures, education, and engaging youth in hands-on experiences.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage groups and maintain a positive, structured environment.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp starts).
Must pass fingerprint background check and any state-required screenings.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Requires active participation in outdoor activities, including hiking, swimming, and sports.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
Exposure to various outdoor weather conditions.
