Treadwell is home to the ONLY K-5 Dual Language Immersion Program in Tennessee!
We are always looking for bilingual educators and assistants for K-5 classrooms for a variety of content areas– Math, Science, Social studies, English, and/or Spanish Language Arts!
90/10 PROGRAM MODEL + 50/50 Home Language Base:
Starting in Kindergarten, 90% of the instructional day is taught IN SPANISH (Math, Science, Social Studies, etc) with 10% reserved for English instructional time.
By design, homerooms have a balance of native English speakers AND native Spanish speakers, so all students get the opportunity to be language learners and language models throughout the day.
English speakers get immersed in the Spanish language early, and Spanish speakers maintain their home language. All students grow bilingually in literacy in BOTH languages!
By 4th/5th grade, half of content time is in English, and half is in Spanish– meaning ALL students are continuing to grow in bilingualism– AND BILITERACY!
IDEAL* CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Elementary License/Endorsement
Advanced Spanish proficiency/Bilingual English-Spanish
ESL experience or coursework preferred
