Title: Bartender
FLSA Status: Part-time/Non-Exempt
Minimum Hourly Pay: $10 plus tips

We are looking for a professional, high-energy bartender with excellent communication skills to serve basic cocktails and beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages to our customers. The bartender will operate in a fast-paced manner while greeting customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and snacks. You will also upsell items, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.
To succeed as a bartender, you should have a neat appearance and engaging, friendly personality. You should be efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.
How You Will Contribute
• Welcoming patrons, reading, and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking and preparing drink orders.
• Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
• Maintaining a clean work area.
• Record and balance register.
Department and Organization Participation
• Contribute to department and organizational goals as well as individual goals
• Assist as needed on all department duties as assigned
• Support the organization’s fundraising initiatives and assist as needed at fundraising events
• Contribute to the organization’s mission, vision, values, and commitment to equity
How You Stand Out
Preferred Experience and Education
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• At least 18 years of age
• Current ABC Card a plus for barback or 60 days to apply from time of initial employment.
• Ability to pass a background check and criminal history evaluation
• Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic math and computer skills.
Preferred Skills
• Experience in bartending preferred
• Experience in a high-volume environment
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong task and time management abilities.
• Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.
• Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
