Immediate opening for a full time Patient Account Representative for large Cardiology Clinic in our Germantown, TN location. Job duties include, but are not limited to, telephone communication with patients, reviewing and maintaining accurate patient billing, contacting insurance companies for claim processing, resolve payment problems and reimbursement issues. Must have the ability to multitask while talking to patients on the phone, take personal payments, apply payments, set up budget plans, review insurance denials and work work-queues and tasks. Reviews and processes adjustments as needed to resolve credit balances and ensure account balances are correct.
Minimum Requirements: One year of insurance follow-up or billing experience, High school diploma or equivalent, strong concept of patient advocacy, past experience or working knowledge of Insurance guidelines. Must possess the organizational skills to manage and prioritize a multi-task position. Must maintain telephone and personal etiquette to effectively deal with patients, peers and management, even under stressful conditions.
Preferred/Desired: Clerical skills with a working knowledge of accounting and insurance coverages and three (3) years’ experience in a physician’s office or hospital business setting.
