Manager B – Facility Operations

Position Summary
Responsible for the delivery of high performance in-house and outsourced facilities hard and soft services. Manages facility projects including real estate, and building security.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Three (3) years of supervisory and/or management experience in facilities or project management; and

2. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in facilities management, project management, business administration/ management, or a related field; or

3. An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

4. PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Effectively manages all assigned property related to work projects, making optimal use of office accommodation and facilities.

2. Oversees contracts and providers for services related to building maintenance, operations and facility use.

3. Allocates and manages SCHD real estates including assisting departments to relocate to new offices.

4. Ensures facilities meets government regulations and environmental, health and security standards.

5. Ensures the effective performance management of facilities contract services including; building maintenance, security, cleaning, waste management, stationery, environment, and building consultancy services.

6. Responsible for the storage and upkeep of SCHD inventory.

7. Monitors expenditures against forecasts/ budgets ensuring that funds are spent appropriately while complying with all relevant policies and procedures.

8. Supervises assigned staff regarding team performance, training and development.

9. Develops good working relationships with other divisions, partners and third parties.

10. Ensures compliance with health and safety policy, processes and procedures in all operational activities, ensuring appropriate risk assessments are carried out and corrective actions documented and addressed.

11. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

KSA’s
1. Working knowledge of principles and practices of project management.

2. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

3. Works effectively with people from all backgrounds and treats all people equally with dignity and respect.

4. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

5. Ability to lead and manage teams and projects.

6. Attention to detail with the ability to focus on the goals of the organization.

7. Organization, time management prioritizing and the ability to handle complex, varied workload.

8. Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations.

Physical Requirements
1. Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

2. Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching and/or crawling; reaching above shoulder level.

3. Must be able to work in all types of weather.

Special Requirements
1. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver license or secure one by date of employment.

2. Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet County requirements for automobile insurance upon date of employment.

3. Must be able to work a modified schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.

4. Must be able to be on call as needed.
