Senior Camp Counselor

Responsible for supervision of camper groups, plans activities for their group, & ensures
campers stay on schedule & safe throughout the day.

Responsibilities:
● Provide direct camper care & supervision, prioritizing the physical, social, emotional
health & safety of each individual camper
● Supervise & assist campers in all programming, activities, or emergencies
● Support activity specialists by participating, assisting, or leading programming as
needed
● Facilitate group unity by promoting camper friendships, resolving conflict fairly, &
implementing positive behavior-management techniques
● Act in the best interest of MJCC Day Camp & be a role model for campers and peers
regarding behavior, language, & conduct
● Other duties as assigned by camp leadership
● Adhere to all JCC personnel policies

Qualifications/Education:
● Minimum of 16 years of age
● CPR and First Aid certification (This can be obtained in staff training)
● Satisfactorily pass a drug screening, criminal background check, & NSOPW check
● Experience working with children preferred, but not required
● Individuals must be able to perform each essential duty at a high quality level.
● Must attend staff training & development

Daily Activities May Include:
● Walking, running, and swimming
● Getting on the floor to participate & supervise activities
● Spending an extended period of time outdoors
