Seasonal Youth Education Instructor

The Memphis Botanic Garden is a 96-acre garden in the heart of urban Memphis. We feature over 30 display gardens, a wide array of educational programming, community events, and an outdoor amphitheater hosting major entertainment acts.
The Garden is currently seeking a Youth Education Instructor. If you enjoy working with children and spending time outdoors —this is the job for you! The Garden offers nature based curriculum through hands-on classes for school groups and field trips. Most programs are held on weekday mornings and on occasional weekends. Flexible schedule.
The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, energetic, multi-tasker with excellent interpersonal skills for dealing both children, adults, and co-workers.

Type: Hourly/Seasonal part time
Reports to: Youth Education Program Director
Pay Rate: Starts at $14/Hour

Primary Responsibilities:
Leading the Garden’s nature-based lessons. This includes set up, facilitation, and cleanup of scheduled programs.

• Experience working with children of various ages

Special Requirements:

• Must submit to and pass a background check and drug screening
• In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
• Ability to work outdoors
• Teaching or science background a plus but not required
• Position requires walking, standing, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Must have the availability to work weekday mornings and on occasional weekends.
