SUMMARY:
The EHS Coordinator (2nd Shift) will be administer and support the Company’s Environmental, Health and Safety programs. Provide technical support to meet the requirements of federal, state and local laws, industry standards, customer specifications, and company specifications applicable to environmental, health and safety
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the Company Safety Management System (CSMS) and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs at the HICO facility / operations. Recommend changes or improvements to enhance the effectiveness of the CSMS / EMS programs.
• Under the scope of the CSMS and EMS, assists with development of appropriate facility-wide policies, procedures, practices and training, as required.
• Provides support in the completion of the CSMS / EMS requirements for the HICO facility / operations.
• Assists with the development of EHS targets and objectives. Monitors progress toward completion of objectives.
• Performs, and/or participates in internal and external EHS audits. Assists with implementation of responses; confirm effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
• Assists with site-specific EHS risk assessments. Documents results and implements measurements for improvement.
• Assures compliance with applicable EHS federal, state, and local regulations and/or requirements.
• Conducts and assists with investigations on all work-related incidents (injury/near-miss/property damage).
• Documents and monitors corrective actions and responses, and follow-up when required in near-miss/property damage/environmental spills). Provide feedback on root cause and appropriate corrective actions.
• Assist with the development / implementation of corrective actions programs to prevent a recurrence.
• Participates in and leads emergency responses and drills as required.
• Assist with the coordination of the Hyosung Safety Committee and meetings.
• Conducts employee EHS related training and re-training.
• Inspects all fall protection and sling safety equipment as well as facility equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
• Know HICO’s Safety and Environmental policies with confidence to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work.
• Enforces use of safety equipment and compliance with company, local, state and federal regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) in Environmental Health and Safety, and a minimum of 2 years’ experience; in manufacturing.
• Broad-based knowledge of EHS programs and an understanding of the underlying philosophy.
• Working knowledge of relevant local, state and federal safety and environmental regulations and practice.
• Developed verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills to communicate effectively and foster management and employee participation.
• Developed knowledge of EHS field concepts, practices and procedures.
• Broad knowledge in computer skills including Microsoft Office products.
