This position will work across all teams to identify and apply for various grants that align with Habitat’s programs, services, and new initiatives. This person will assist in managing the grant process from beginning to end, including significant attention to compliance.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Works with the Director of Programs to assess funding needs and potential sources.
Research various types of grants available and the criteria to qualify for each.
Compiles necessary information for the application process through collaboration with other employees, database research, and other fact-finding actions and meetings according to application requirements.
Ensures grants are submitted on time and within application parameters.
Manage grant status and ensures timely, accurate reporting consistent with the grant makers’ requirements.
Assists with identifying and monitoring complex grant compliance systems.
Ensures all policies are current and compliant with local, state, and federal grant guidelines.
Assists with conducting internal audits and preparation for general and OMB 133 audits.
Coordinates the monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects funded by grants.
Develops and maintains master grant calendar, files, compliance chart, and documents connected to grant-funded programs, including the creation and maintenance of a toolkit that will be used by all teams when writing grants and proposals.
Education, Work Experience & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Nonprofit Management; Master’s preferred.
Five years demonstrated experience in similar role.
Thorough understanding of grant polices and local, state, and federal regulations and funding sources and the ability to locate potential sources for funding.
Experience in preparing for OMB 133 audits.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work well with a variety of personalities and varying organizational dynamics.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, or similar database soft.
Excellent project management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. A standard work week is Monday through Friday 9am-5pm. Evening and work may be required as job duties demand. This position has no supervisory responsibilities but will direct volunteers when assigned.
