About the Project
Cohort members will learn and apply research and design skills to make recommendations to improve a feature on the RiseKit digital hub. RiseKit is a digital platform designed to connect job seekers with employment, training, and support services. It partners with workforce development programs and community-based organizations to help individuals access economic mobility opportunities. Code for America’s Memphis Team will be organizing the cohort and its activities, providing payments, and guiding each member through the experience.
Activities
The contractor / cohort member will contribute to a collaborative user research and design project focused on improving the goal-setting feature on the RiseKit platform. There will be a mix of in-person and remote meetings. This includes:
- Conducting research with community members through various methods, such as interviews, surveys, and tests of prototypes, to gather insights
- Analyzing and synthesizing feedback to identify key challenges and opportunities for design improvements
- Developing UX artifacts, such as journey maps and low-fidelity prototypes, to visualize recommended changes
- Presenting research findings and design recommendations to RiseKit and other key stakeholders
- Share highlights of research and engage with community partners and stakeholders at a convening in Fall
