Job Summary 

The Alumni Communications Coordinator/Manager will be responsible for leading all the Choose901 Alumni Program Communications for City Leadership and partners through segmented emails, targeted social media campaigns, segmented SMS/MMS campaigns, and other communication support. Key Job Functions

Development responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Choose901 Alumni to ensure we understand needs, wants, and dreams of our Alumni 
  • Develop segmented 52-week communication plans for initiating and maintaining relationships with Choose901 Alumni based on their age and stage, from high school students through professionals 10+ years out of high school. 
  • Curate and implement social media strategy across multiple platforms to foster engagement and highlight Choose901 Alumni program for multiple stakeholders
  • Work with the Marketing Director and Content Strategist to ensure all social media, email, and SMS/MMS messaging aligns with City Leadership style guidelines and incorporates flow across all City Leadership programs. 
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with representatives of partner organizations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with organizations supporting Choose901 Alumni – community foundations, business and community partners, talent partners, and networking organizations. 
  • Maintain working knowledge of partner programs and relevant data points.
  • Conduct research to find new opportunities for engaging Alumni and opportunities for engagement, including skills training, job opportunities, available scholarships, etc.
  • Work with the Data Scientist to ensure data is collected on all alumni communications activity and conduct regular reviews of data with the executive leadership team to ensure continuous improvement of the Choose901 Alumni program.
  • Work with the Development team to deliver compelling grant proposals backed by data that communicate the mission, programs, and vision to potential funders. 
  • Represent City Leadership at community engagement events (may include nights/weekends)

Requirements 

  • An ability to grasp and communicate THE message.
  • Expert with email and SMS/MMS content management systems, including list segmentation, A/B testing, and automation.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for storytelling. Familiarity with the StoryBrand framework is a plus. 
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to coordinate tasks, timelines, and deliverables across teams.
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and can effectively communicate and work with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications & Desired Skills

  • Commitment to the values of City Leadership—guided by the principles that everything rises and falls on leadership and that leaders take initiative for the benefit of others.
  • Multiple years of professional experience working in digital marketing, content creation, website management, or other relevant fields. A Bachelor’s Degree in the appropriate field of study is a bonus. 
  • Proficiency in WordPress, Heymarket, CSS, and HTML.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills. 
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment.
  • Natural relationship builder with integrity, reliability, and maturity.
