Job Summary:
The Early Childhood Coordinator position is a full-time role tasked with supporting the Director in the daily operational aspects and overseeing of a licensed and accredited childcare center catering to children from six weeks to 5 years old. This individual plays a supportive role to the leadership team and teaching staff at Hope House in a consistently positive and professional manner. Moreover, the Early Childhood Coordinator is involved in upholding the safety, health, and security standards for both children and employees in alignment with Hope House, DHS, and NAEYC policies and procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Incorporate the Hope House mission, culture, and values to maintain an inclusive environment and positive relationships with families, staff, and clients
Regularly monitor the center’s programs to assess program quality and that the children’s learning is effectively documented and visible
Ensure compliance with DHS licensing and NAEYC accreditation standards, health and safety protocols, company policies, grant compliance, and new employee orientation.
Ensure classrooms are equipped with daily sign-in sheets, weekly attendance sheets, and meal count records.
Collect all completed sign-in sheets, weekly attendance sheets, and meal count records from classrooms weekly and ensure their accurate completion.
In coordination with the Director of Early Childhood Services, implement and track transportation assistance.
Participate in data entry, discussions, outcome measures, and program improvement.
Conduct monthly drills according to DHS licensing rules (i.e. fire, tornado, shooter).
Keep accurate and up to date records on all children in the daycare.
In coordination with appropriate staff, develop menus according to CACFP guidelines.
Keep accurate records for the CACFP in CareWare.
Order and shop according to CACFP guidelines.
Clean facility for the safe preparation of food and a healthy environment for children.
Provide classroom support and breaks in the absence of a teacher, floater, or staff.
Communicate with the Administration about classroom/teacher needs.
Coordinate parent/teacher interaction by ensuring parent-teacher conferences occur three times during the school year (September, January, and May).
Coordinate aftercare program and staff.
Follow Hope House’s Behavioral Plan as stated in the handbook for children.
Collaborate with Director to establish processes and procedures to ensure continuation of services in the absence of any key staff member
Attend classes and workshops as applicable.
Attendance appropriate for position at Hope House.
Fulfills all other responsibilities necessary for the operation of Hope House.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required.
CPR/ First Aid Certified
Complete all required DHS requirements within the first 90 days of hired
Prefer two or more years of experience in childcare setting
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Proficient in data entry
Proficient in DHS and NAEYC standards
Physical Requirements
Proof of a physical examination within the last six months or immediately upon the start date.
Able to pass a background before the hire date.
Able to lift 15-20lbs
Licensure:
Tennessee driver’s license and valid insurance
