Kitchen & Bath Design Assistant

Since 1969, Kitchens Unlimited has been serving the upscale residential market in the Mid-south by providing custom cabinetry design and renovation services. Our team of professional designers works to provide an individual experience for our clientele, tailored to their space, budget, style, home and personality. Our designers have a combination of skills of interior design, architecture, space planning and technical knowledge to make us “specialists” in our field.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, interior design assistant who works well in a team setting and who thrives in a fast paced, environment.

Responsibilities include:

Admin:

·        Report to principal designer and provide direct support in the design process from concept to completion by managing work schedule, maintaining detailed meeting minutes and client binders, sourcing and pricing products, preparing all necessary drawings, estimates, and contracts, creating design presentations

·        Maintain an exceptionally high level of customer service and client follow-through

·        Provide a professional point of contact for designers, architects, contractors, vendors, and clients

·        Network with the professional trade through involvement in associations, meetings and events

·        Proficiency in computer software for digital project management, design programs, and social media

Design:

·        Site surveying, ability to take measurements and read construction drawings

·        Accurate and efficient translation of rough measurements into CAD working designs

·        Sourcing and pricing of cabinetry, countertops, installation and any other materials or labor

·        Assist with project management; attending client meetings and managing design process from initial layout to ordering and installation

 

The desired applicant will have:

Associates or Bachelors degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field

A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in a related field is preferred

AKBD or CKBD preferred but not required

Knowledge of 20/20 Design or similar cabinetry design program

Knowledge of AutoCAD

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Proficiency in Adobe Design Suite

Strong judgement and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong organizational skills, attention to details

Ability to work and manage tasks independently
