Position Overview
Wilson Public Relations is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented PR Assistant to provide essential support to our team. In this role, you will perform a range of administrative and creative tasks, including managing calendars and drafting and reviewing content. You will assist in market research, media tracking, and maintaining databases, as well as participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative PR ideas.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong communication, writing, and organizational skills, along with a passion for public relations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in PR, working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage calendars (editorial, press conferences, events) and track deadlines
- Assist in organizing and executing PR events, press conferences, and meetings
- Draft and review various types of content (press releases, media alerts, newsletters)
- Proofread and edit announcements, presentations, and video scripts
- Track and document media coverage and PR metrics for reporting
- Maintain and update contact databases, content calendars, and media lists
- Create project-specific media lists to support PR campaigns
- Archive press clips and compile materials for periodic reports
- Provide general administrative support to the PR team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or a related field
- Prior experience in PR, communications, or as an administrative assistant (preferred)
- Solid understanding of PR and marketing processes and best practices
- Exceptional copywriting and editing skills
- Familiarity with social media platforms and trends
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines efficiently and autonomously
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Creativity and passion for generating ideas and contributing to PR strategies
