What Makes This So Impressive?

Residency programs are like internships on steroids, offering hands-on, real-world experience for pharmacy grads. And not everyone gets in. The match process is competitive, and landing a top placement means you’ve earned it.

In this year’s match cycle:

  • 66 PGY1 matches (Postgraduate Year 1)

  • 28 PGY2 matches (Postgraduate Year 2)

  • Matches in fields like oncology, behavioral health, infectious disease, ambulatory care, and more

  • Students placed in hospitals, community clinics, and leadership programs across the country

“A strong residency match rate shows how well we’re preparing students,” said Dr. Leslie Hamilton, professor and residency coordinator.“It speaks volumes about the quality of education and mentorship our students receive.”

The Future Is Bright—and Based in Memphis

UTHSC students aren’t only staying in Tennessee. They’re making a difference from across the nation from Wilmington, NC, to Chicago, IL.
