A healthy imagination is an important part of a child’s ability to wonder and learn. It’s one of the many reasons childhood is so much fun, but sometimes kids need support when it comes to sparking their imagination.
One of the easiest ways to encourage imagination in your child is through STEM.
WHAT IS STEM?
STEM stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. STEM is all about connecting the four subjects together to learn how to solve real-world problems.

STEM activities are an easy way to encourage students to get creative. Whether they are joining the STEM club through the Memphis Public Library or playing with STEM toys, hands-on activities help spark up imagination in your child.
BOOKS:
Books are a great way to spark imagination. STEM books can allow your child to become curious about science, technology, engineering, and math. On the other hand, non-STEM books are just as important because they can do the same and then some. All books have the potential to help your child get creative and ask questions as they learn to be more imaginative.
OTHER WAYS:
- Memphis Museum of Science & History (MoSH) currently has an exhibit titled AI Artifical Intelligence: Your Mind & The Machine which would be a great way to further your child’s STEM learning
