On New Year’s Eve, Sports Junction, re-branded as Growlers, will be unveiling their new name and logo.
Located in the old HiTone building that then became Sports Junction, Growlers plans to stay connected to the Memphis community with music, events, and more. The name is inspired by local sports mascots.
According to Rick Haygood, General Manager at Growlers, Memphians will be able to watch any and all sports on their 30+ tvs and 4 HD projectors. Growlers will also have a full 7.1 Dolby digital theater with the ability to not only watch sports but have watch parties for show premieres and movies. The room can be rented out for private events and is available for dinner and a movie.
Speed dating, poker nights, comedy and interactive fantasy football are just a few of the events planned for the public. The bar has 2 dart boards, 2 pool tables, arcade games, 25 beers on tap, and hope to have a growler station in the future.
Growlers will continue the long tradition of local and national acts performing on the legendary stage. The food menu will include chef-inspired items, as well as their classic wings and burgers.
Hours are Monday-Thursday 4PM-2AM, Friday and Saturday 11AM-3AM, and Sunday 11AM-1AM. Growlers plans to open for weekday lunch soon, along with adding brunch menu items for Saturdays and Sundays. Growlers is located at 1911 Poplar Ave, 38104.
The New Year’s Eve party will include giveaways, drink specials, champagne specials, a ball drop, and live music.
