If you like dodgeball and competition, the Grind City Getdown is the tournament for you!
The creators of LUVMUD and LUVGLO are bringing the newest charity event to downtown. This dodgeball tournament will be the first ever caged tournament in the streets of downtown Memphis. It will have 2 caged courts and the tournament will be made of up to 50 co-ed teams. The fun doesn’t stop there, the tournament will have food trucks, live music (‘GetDown’ funk themed), and a beer garden!
- When: June 3rd, 4-10pm
- Where: In the street on Peabody Place (between Main St. & Peabody garage)
- Cost: $35 per person
These co-ed teams will be made up of 8 people (up to 10) with at least 2 females starting in the tournament, starting at $35 a person. This price includes an event t-shirt and a minimum of two games. Teams will compete in a double elimination tournament and the final four teams will play under black lights with extended game times.
Teams are also encouraged to fundraise for the event, teams that raise $600 (registration fees included) will get a custom made team flag to have represent your team at the event. Corporate teams are also available for $1,000 which includes 10 registrations, logo on even shirts, social media promotions and live mentions at the event.
Grind City GetDown will benefit and provide funds for the Memphis Family Connection Center. MFCC provides connection based trauma informed care and services to Shelby County area adoptive, foster care and special needs community.
