“TOUCHDOWWWWWWN TITANS!” Hearing that is like music to my ears. That would be Mike Keith who is the Titans’ radio broadcaster, and the excitement that he brings to the calling the game is unmatched. It gets me hyped up just hearing that on the radio, so going to games and seeing us score touchdowns in person is that much better.
Just a three hour drive east of Memphis will take you into the country music capital of the world. Along with being a big vibrant city, it’s also home to my Tennessee Titans. I’m sure you can see the trend by now. I am the hometown fan. I root for every Tennessee sports team and can’t wait until one of them brings home the ships back to our state! (it’s gotta happen eventually right?)
With plenty of friends in Nashville, it’s fun to get out and reconnect every now and then. Thankfully, I have a friend whose dad is a season ticket holder who knows the right guy for cheap tickets. They throw awesome tailgates every home game and all their friends come out in full force to cheer on the Titans! We got to the parking lot outside of the stadium around 9:30 to help finish setting up. People are bringing food and drinks so it’s hard to not get excited for the game with all that. After spending some hours in the parking lot with some bloody mary’s, it’s game time.
Upon entering Nissan Stadium, they gave us an awesome looking Titans flag that was designed with a camo blue to give a salute to everyone in the armed services. Every game every fan gets a freebie from the team to keep the team spirit up! It’s a cool looking stadium that gives a great view of the Nashville skyline. There’s plenty of places to get some drinks and food, so it gives you ample time to get the essentials and get to your seat. We were situated on the third level, but with seats in the middle of field and close to the bottom, we had a great view. We were playing the Cincinnati Bengals. It isn’t quite a rivalry game, but it still had huge playoff implications for us.
After a roller coaster of a fourth quarter, my man, Marcus Marigoata, led us to victory on a game winning drive with only 30 seconds left on the clock. Once we scored to take the lead for good, the atmosphere in the stadium was electric. It was far from being a sold out game, but man, NFL fans know how to make some noise. It was a great way to end a great weekend, and I’m glad that this win was the cherry on top. Now I just have to pray that we hold on to our AFC South lead and make the playoffs for the first time in a very very long time. Titan Up!
