The Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce is asking for YOUR help to be a part of something that has was once a source a great pride here in the Bluff City. Memphis is said to be the only five time winner of the cleanest city award but it’s been a long time since we last held that honor. The Chamber announced as one of it’s “Moon Missions” that it would work to make “Memphis Clean by 2019”.
“Memphis is our home and how our home looks directly reflects what we think about ourselves and what others think about us,” said Phil Trenary, President and CEO of the Chamber. “Every Memphian deserves a clean neighborhood and a clean city.”
The chamber will be joining with several organizations who have worked very hard over the years to same end including Clean Memphis, Memphis City Beautiful, the Urban Art Commission‘s work around murals and the mayor’s stated intent to eliminate blight. High Ground News reports specifics are set to come in 2015. You can read more about all of the moon missions at the chamber here.
The first step starts with all of us. When you see a piece of trash anywhere in our great city, pick it up. Let’s all do something today, and look for those bigger opportunities to be a part of the greater change.
