I’m A’Mya Washington, a licensed REALTOR® in the state of Mississippi, but real estate is only one part of who I am. Alongside helping people find homes, I’m also pursuing another passion of mine: art and painting.
At first, real estate and painting might seem like two completely different worlds. One involves contracts, negotiations, showings, and closing tables. The other involves a blank canvas, colors, creativity, and imagination.
But for me, they actually have something important in common: vision.
As an agent, I help people see the potential in a property and envision what their life could look like there. As an artist, I start with a blank canvas and create something from an idea in my mind.
Both require patience, creativity, confidence, and the ability to see something before it fully comes together.
Growing up in Olive Branch and being exposed to the arts and culture of Memphis helped shape the person I am today. I got the best of both worlds—the close-knit, growing community of Olive Branch while being close enough to Memphis to experience its creativity, music, art, and individuality.
That balance taught me that you don’t have to fit into one box. I’ve always had a creative side, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve found different ways to express it—from painting and art to exploring tattooing.
Now, as a Realtor, I’m still creating. Just in a different way. I get to help people find a place they can call home while continuing to build a life that allows me to be both business-minded and creative.
