From Beignets to Cold Brews to BBQ, the 12th Annual Downtown Dining Week Has it All

This article was written by Savannah Gresham.

After the past year and a half, life’s simple pleasures have become much more appreciated and much less taken for granted. Take enjoying good conversation with friends or family over a meal, for example: pre-Covid, it was commonplace to neglect savoring moments like this. But once the pandemic forced us apart, and forced many beloved restaurants to close their doors, staple experiences like these became the longed-for stuff of the past and the hoped-for stuff of the future.

That is why we’re so excited for this year’s Downtown Dining Week, taking place November 1-7 in restaurants all throughout—you guessed it—downtown Memphis!

In addition to good food and drink, and the rockstar chefs, servers, bartenders, baristas, and other staff who prepare, pour, and serve it, this year Downtown Dining Week is celebrating the resilience of the restaurant community.

Supported by the Downtown Memphis Commission, DDW 2021 invites Memphians all across the city to make their way to the heart of the city to show our love, appreciation, and ongoing commitment to the local eateries we can’t get enough of.

This year, there are 57 different restaurants participating in DDW, and all specials are priced at $20.21 (pretty clever, eh?).

Wondering if your downtown fave is on the list? We’ve got you covered. Here’s an alphabetized list of all 57 participating restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, and bakeries:

Can’t decide which ones to visit (or how many your wallet can handle)? We know, we know—if only Downtown Dining Week could last all year long! But to help you out, there is a daily $100 gift card giveaway that sure could stretch your eating-out budget! That’s nearly five free DDW specials! Think of the possibilities…

All you have to do is:

  1. Hit up any restaurant participating in #DDW21 from November 1-7 (carry out and to-go orders count, too!).
  2. Snap a pic of your meal, of yourself, or both, and post it to your Facebook profile, Instagram page, and/or Insta story. Make sure you tag @downtownmemphis and #DDW21 in order for your entry to count!

It’s as easy as that—as many times as you dine at one of the participating 57 restaurants and post a tagged pic, your name is entered into the drawing.

And if you’re the type of person who wants to arrive at the restaurant ready to order, we’ve got you covered there, too.

Head to Downtown Dining Week’s website to scope out each restaurant’s menu.

Twelve years strong and no signs of stopping! We’ll see you downtown soon!
