Last month Freewheel Memphis completed the last ride of their 2017 spring season.
Exploring the Medical District of the city, 265 participants in Freewheel covered over 1,500 miles combined and shed 61,000 calories! This program is dedicated to granting an opportunity for long time Memphis citizens or newbies to experience and take in one of the city’s most underappreciated areas, the Medical District and its neighboring communities.
It’s not just the community exploration that is a perk of the program, it’s also the chance to establish new and lasting friendships between Memphians from all walks of life and begin expanding roots deeper into the heart of the city.
Cori Jones, a member of the group, eloquently surmised the importance of the group to the city:
“Memphis is a huge place, and it’s easy to get lost in its hustle and bustle. Freewheel helps slow down the fast pace of the city, both literally and figuratively. I love that Freewheel gave me the opportunity to become part of a smaller community, especially since I recently moved to Memphis from the Midwest.”
