Fall Concerts in The Grove at GPAC are Here!

Germantown Performing Art Centers Fall Concerts in The Grove series presented by SouthWorth Capital Management is officially back, and you won’t want to miss a single show. 

Starting this week with a performance from singer-songwriter Amy LaVere, GPAC will present some of the area’s best musicians on the Highland Capital Stage every Thursday night from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Gates will open at 5:30 PM. 

Whether you’re a local music junky or just looking to get outside, bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come on over to welcome in the cooler weather under the trees on the TruGreen Lawn!

– Thursday, September 11

An artist at the top of her craft, singer-songwriter Amy Lavere is opening the series with her clever, pointed lyrics and captivating voice.

– Thursday, September 18

Memphis-born singer-songwriter and actress Alexis Grace’s voice is as rich and multifaceted as the city that raised her, with technically sharp yet emotionally raw vocals that move between genres with ease. 

– Thursday, September 25

Catch guitarist and songwriter Jeff Hulett, known for his tenure with iconic local group Snowglobe, in his newest configuration: Jeff Hulett and the Hand Me Downs. 

– Thursday, October 2

Mark Edgar Stuart & Friends make their return to the Highland Capital Stage in The Grove with their mix of old-school charm and modern Memphis mojo. 

– Thursday, October 9

Celebrating the diverse musicians and genres that made Memphis music famous, The Kaleid with Josh Threlkeld blends jazzy horns with front-porch fiddle, folk lines with gospel harmonies, and heart-stirring lyrics with soulful groove! 

– Thursday, October 16

Short in the Sleeve bring their eclectic tastes to every live performance, drawing from their diverse catalog which explores musical territories from folk rock and spare acoustic to power and synth pop. 

– Thursday, October 23

Under the direction of Garry Goin, G3 is the freshest, most captivating R&B showcase band on the scene with a repertoire that’ll have every music lover up and dancing. 

– Thursday, October 30

Memphis native singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Marcella Simien joins forces with Chicago-based fiddle player and singer-songwriter Anne Harris as Magnolias, serving up soul-stirring vocals and thought-provoking lyrics—informed by Creole, soul, blues, folk, and roots traditions—for a spellbinding experience.

General admission tickets are only $9 with fees included, and tickets for kids 8 and under are free! Limited table seating is also available directly in front of the stage for that VIP feel at just $17 a seat.

Friends of The Grove 

GPAC is happy to welcome some of our incredible community sponsors from the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, WYXR, and the Memphis Grizzlies to The Grove this fall! 

On Saturday, September 20, the Memphis Symphony Big Band will return to The Grove for their annual performance, this year with jazz singer and native Memphian Patrice Williamson as their featured vocalist. This fan-favorite show will feature timeless classics and new arrangements in styles from dance band to big band to samba and more to get everyone dancing under the trees! 

At September shows, catch WYXR DJs as they introduce acts. Stephanie Williams of Just A Touch will present Amy LaVere on September 11, Arniece Ibezim of The OZone will present Alexis Grace on September 18, and Nicole Covington of Planet Chrome will present Jeff Hulett and the Hand Me Downs on September 25.

Make sure you get to each of the October Concerts in The Grove performances early to get pumped up with the Grizz (and potentially score some merch) as they spread some pre-season magic with all the music and basketball fans out there!

Need a bite to eat? 

Check out all of our foodie friends in Food Truck Alley inside The Grove to get a bite to eat from the best food trucks in town. From newer hits like Neon Crave and Smoke & Toast to tried and true favorites like Green Beetle and Pok Cha’s, there’s always something delicious cooking up in The Grove. For all the details on what food trucks will be on the menu at any one of the Concerts in The Grove presented by SouthWorth Capital Management, just check out the GPAC website

GPAC also offers a full-service bar curated by their Food & Beverage Manager (and Master Mixologist) Brad Pitts on the First Horizon Foundation Plaza. 

Outside food and drinks are permitted in The Grove, so picnics and coolers are welcome, too!
