Winter Watercolor Workshop
This watercolor workshop is for students at every level. No need to have any experience in watercolor! Artist, Kate Roberts, will walk you through the painting step by step, teaching you various techniques along the way.
Just some of the things you will learn are; how to work in thin washes to build up vibrant colors, how to use different everyday objects to create patterns and texture in your work, how to mix colors, and using masking fluid. You will also learn how to fix any happy accidents along the way, ensuring everyone will take home something they’re proud of!
All supplies are provided, but feel free to bring your own watercolors and/or brushes if you prefer.
You are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks, and Kate will supply wine!
Hello! I am Kate Roberts, a 24 year old artist based in Memphis, Tennessee. I work in acrylic, gouache, watercolor, and mixed media.
My work explores the diverse expressions of the human form and celebrates all types of sexuality. I find a huge importance in bringing a sense of freedom to our bodies, and a spotlight on the beauty in diversity. I use paints to concentrate on the ways color and light show in my subjects. I enjoy not giving a label to my style. If I had to give you a goal to my contribution in art, I couldn’t. I believe my work grows and shifts in my mind just as I do in the world.
While I am not painting, I am working in furniture restoration, faux finishing, and murals. Alongside with painting and creating, I love being outdoors, spending time with my fabulous rescue animals, and nurturing my indoor plant collection.
