“The colossally talented pair continue their commando, no-limits journey to the top of the music world.” – The Associated Press

Since forming in 2014, this husband-and-wife team—Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Blount-Trotter—have amassed a following as eclectic as their sound itself. With music that draws on a bluesy but joyful fusion of Southern soul, gospel, country, and rock and roll, The War and Treaty creates an endlessly exhilarating exchange of energy that is sure to move any audience.

With a lionhearted, sonic blend of voices that roar with passion yet are tender to the touch, The War and Treaty have earned the respect of the industry as top-shelf collaborators, having been recognized by the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Americana Music Association, who named them Duo/Group of the Year two years in a row. Most recently, they have been recognized by the Grammy Awards with two nominations for Best New Artist and Best American Roots Song for their hit “Blank Page” from their most recent album, Lover’s Game, which was met with critical acclaim.

The duo has captivated stages across the globe from North America to Europe, Australia, and beyond, headlining their own shows as well as opening for a diverse group of living legends including Al Green, Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, John Legend, Lauren Daigle, Van Morrison, and many more. As their electrifying voices are turning heads throughout the industry, The War and Treaty also recently collaborated with breakout star Zach Bryan on his song “Hey Driver” off his self-titled album, which received a Grammy nomination for Best Country Album.
