The City of Memphis Lead and Shelby County Lead Programs Presents Boo! Does Lead Scare You Community Event
The City of Memphis Lead and Shelby County Lead Programs are organizing an event in observance of National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week. National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week, will be held from October 20 to October 26, 2024, is a national observance supported by HUD, EPA, and the Center for Disease Control to raise awareness about lead exposure and lead poisoning by providing resources for the public to use to encourage preventive actions during NLPPW and beyond. NLPPW highlights the many ways parents, caregivers and communities can reduce children’s exposure to lead and prevent its harmful health effects.
The theme of National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week 2024 is “Lead Free Kids for a Greater Memphis.” The event Boo! Does Lead Scare You will take place Saturday October 26, 2024, 10am-2pm at the Orange Mound Community and Senior Center Gym.
