Two people use tools to cut and work with a piece of brown translucent fabric featuring a white floral pattern on a white table, creating Patchwork Memory Squares for their Stitch and Story project.

Stitch and Story: Patchwork Memory Squares

Discover a new way to collage and upcycle in this hands-on sewing workshop, participants will create personalized fabric squares using repurposed textiles. Inspired by quilt-making traditions, this class explores memory, identity, and sustainability through hand-stitching. No sewing experience is required – participants can stitch initials, abstract patterns, or meaningful symbols. Finished squares can be framed, used as patches, or combined into a community textile piece. Registration is required. Please note that this workshop is intended for adult participants only. For kid-friendly art making, please see our Family Programs page.

The museum and all its programs are made possible by the generous support of museum members. Members enjoy free daily admission to Memphis Brooks Museum of Art and receive discounts of up to 50% on ticketed events. Join today at thebrooks.org/join
