Soulsville Heart Health Summit
The Soulsville Heart Health Summit, presented by the Tennessee Population Health Consortium at UT Health Science Center, will take place from 1-5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, August 9 and 10, at Stax Museum of American Soul Music, 926 E. McLemore Ave. The summit will focus on strengthening the connections between primary care and community organizations to address social needs and improve population health throughout Tennessee.
Speakers include Jim Bailey, MD, executive director of the Tennessee Population Health Consortium; Susan Cooper, MSN, RN, FAAN, chief integration officer, Regional One Health; Marlon Foster, M.Div., BBA, executive director of Knowledge Quest; Pedro Velasquez, Lifedoc Health; and Jamila Smith-Young, DNP, MPH, CPNP-AC, pediatric nurse practitioner, UT Le Bonheur Pediatric Specialists and First Lady of the City of Memphis. On hand to make welcoming remarks will be Memphis Mayor Paul Young; Austin Dalgo, MD, medical director of the soon-to-open UTHSC Health Hub – Soulsville facility and associate professor of Internal Medicine at UT Health Science Center; and Pat Mitchell-Worley, CEO of Soulsville Foundation.

The Soulsville Heart Health Summit is the inaugural annual meeting of the Tennessee Heart Health Network, the Consortium’s signature project. Dr. Bailey, who heads both organizations, is also the director of the Center for Health System Improvement in the College of Medicine and holds the Robert S. Pearce Endowed Chair in Internal Medicine at UT Health Science Center.
